Homeschooling AT Apogee Lockhart

At Apogee Lockhart, we believe learning is an adventure - and every child’s curiosity is the starting point.

Our homeschooling programs (drop-in & full time) combine hands-on, project-based learning with guidance from experienced mentors, fostering independence, creativity, and a deep connection to community and nature. Whether you’re joining us for a single day each week or committing to full-time enrollment, our approach is rooted in holistic education: intellectual, emotional, social, physical, and creative development.

Students explore real-world challenges, collaborate on projects, and engage in reflective practices that cultivate critical thinking, personal responsibility, and a love of learning. Adults act as mentors and facilitators, offering guidance while giving children the freedom to explore, question, and grow.

Involvement and Requirements

Our Homeschooling is a meaningful, guided experience—not a free-for-all. Students will be participating in group projects, engaging in collaborative learning, and are expected to contribute with intention.

Each session is project-based and flows with a cohesive rhythm, so families must register before the start of a new session. We do not offer mid-session enrollment to honor the integrity of group learning and shared momentum.

There will also be dedicated time for individual learning, where students are encouraged to bring their own materials—such as books, math work, art supplies, or personal research—to dive into their passions alongside peers.

This model supports both structure and flexibility, offering a community-centered extension to your homeschool journey.

Drop-In Program

A Weekly Extension for Your Homeschool Journey

Our Drop-In Homeschool Program invites families to enrich their child’s learning one day a week while connecting with a like-minded community. Each session is guided, project-based, and designed to foster collaboration, curiosity, and self-directed exploration.

Journaling & Inner Reflection: Quiet time for goal-setting and mindful writing.

Individual Learning Time: Students pursue personal interests—math, reading, art, or research projects.

Lunch & Free Play: Nourishment, outdoor time, and social connection.

Socratic Discussion or Debate: Circle time to explore ideas, practice critical thinking, and engage in respectful dialogue.

Project Collaboration & Creation: Hands-on, theme-based group projects.

Closing Circle & Dismissal: Reflection, clean-up, and a sense of accomplishment.

Special Features:

Frontier Fridays: Monthly off-site adventures.

Seasonal Gatherings: Celebrate creativity, nature, and togetherness.

Apogee Anywhere Option: Follow the same learner-driven curriculum at home with guidance from our mentors.
