Ethan grew up in rural New York, surrounded by forests, farms, and self-sufficient living. From tending wood and gardens to working with children at summer camp, he developed a deep respect for nature, curiosity, and community. His journey in education—from field biologist to high school teacher, instructional coach, and principal—revealed both the limits and possibilities of traditional schooling, inspiring him to imagine a system rooted in individuality, self-sufficiency, and wonder.

Angela’s path led her from the creative pulse of New Orleans and Nashville to the fast-paced world of Los Angeles, blending music, theater, culinary arts, and production work. Along the way, she explored human behavior, wellness, spirituality, and alternative healing. After a transformative spiritual awakening, Angela returned to Texas with a mission: to cultivate learning, nourishment, and community in a way that truly honors children and their families.

Together, Ethan and Angela combine decades of experience in education, creativity, wellness, and community building. Their shared mission is simple: to create an environment where children can grow freely, think critically, and connect deeply with themselves, each other, and the world around them.

It’s not cliché to say, our children literally are the future, and as Charles Eisenstein writes in his book, The more Beautiful World Our Hearts Know is Possible- “We are all here to contribute our gifts toward something greater than ourselves, and will never be content unless we are.”

It’s true. We will never be content putting meaning into things, attaching value to trends, siphoning dopamine from toxic sources, and entrusting the hearts and minds of our children to pop culture and a broken and corrupt system that would rather keep them lost in the system rather than free to create their own.

It’s time we grasped this with our own hands.
